Ok, so the guy stole some fajita's, is that any reason to put him in jail for 50 years, lol. I think that is a bit much. Well....it was a lot of Fajita's, lol.

That's a bit extreme. Murderers and drug dealers have gotten lesser sentences.

Bigguy

Yeah, 50 years is a bit much for this, lol. Kinda funny though. Kill someone get 20 years, steal fajita's and get 50, go figure, lol.

Skhilled

Probably cause either he and/or the fajitas are Mexican.

Bigguy

I think he was, not sure if the article says or not.

QuoteGilberto Escamilla, 53, was employed at the Darrel B. Hester Juvenile Detention Center in San Benito, Texas, until August 2017 -- when it was discovered that he had been placing orders for fajitas using county funds and then selling them for his own profit since December 2008, according to Cameron County Court filings.

He worked for a  Darrel B. Hester Juvenile Detention Center in San Benito, Texas,

QuoteAccording to The Brownsville Herald, Escamilla's scheme unraveled last August after a delivery driver with Labatt Food Service phoned the detention center to give kitchen employees a heads up that an 800-pound delivery of fajitas had arrived.

Employees immediately thought the delivery to be suspicious as minors at the detention center are not served fajitas, however the delivery driver insisted that had been delivering fajitas to the detention center's kitchen for the past nine years.

Kind of a bit harsh, but that was government money he was stealing. They don't serve the kids in the center fajitas's, so the guy was getting 100% profit. So yea 9 years is good enough..
